Strands Charity Shop News

It is 4 years (February 6th to be precise) since the charity shop first opened its doors!

Here is an update of just a few of the things that the proceeds from the shop have bought this year.

Our pupils requested some new play equipment as the playground was getting rather old and tired. And guess what? With all the donations and continued support from the local community, we were able to get one!

Not only were we able to buy and install this amazing playground equipment but here is a list of some of the other things we were able to help buy or fund:

• Trips- contributions towards trips and a deposit for a History Tour (May 2019)

• Sensory equipment for ELM

• Money towards NNC Work Experience Service for Key Stage 4 students

• Balance bikes

• A bowling alley in Clement Lodge garden

• Money towards a Lower School Science Detectives workshop

• Strandfest contribution – Our very own festival!

• As well as books and resources!!

• Last but not least Strands has bought the school a double decker bus! The pupils have been missing a library at the school for some time so this is to be our new LIBRARY BUS. We are very excited and cannot wait for the bus to be refurbished and stocked as our new library. This project has been totally funded by the Strands Shop. Our Premises manager Mr Smith is also eager to start the work so hopefully we will be up and running soon.
